OUR news
Since 2020, Spilna Mova has been publishing the annual magazine The Ultimate Ukrainian, registered in the U.S. Library of Congress publication, dedicated to supporting the Ukrainian stand against Russian aggression, promoting the positive image of the Ukrainian defender and countering malign Russian propaganda in the U.S. and other English-speaking countries. In 2024 issues of the Ultimate Ukrainian magazine will be available online at the dedicated publication website.
Cooperating with inernational Academia Institutions
In 2021 - 2023, Spilna Mova implemented in cooperation with the Yaroslava Mudrogo National Law University (Kharkiv, Ukraine) training funded by the ISN/Global Threat Reduction Agency Countering WMD Assassination in Ukraine by Raising Local Capacity to Identify and Respond to Proliferation Threats. In 2024, Spilna Mova and the Library of the Yaroslava Mudrogo National Law University will be working on the "Digital Law Library" program in 2024-2026.
Working with leading local Non-governmental organizations
In 2020, Spilna Mova and the Ukrainian Deminers Association (Kyiv, Ukraine) successfully implemented a program funded by the U.S. State Department Mine Risk Education for Ukrainian Public Schools (age 12-18) – Train the Teacher on Mine Safety. Under this grant, an online training "Mine Safety" was developed for Ukrainian school teachers, followed by on-site training in regional centers: Kyiv, Mariupol, Severodonetsk, Kramatorsk, and Dnipro. This training is still in demand due to Russian aggression and the danger to the population from the mines and explosives left by the occupants in the liberated parts of Ukraine.
addressing challenges, finding ad hoc solutions
During the ongoing military conflict in Ukraine implementing partners are facing many challenges. Particularly, with rendering translation and interpretation services and searching for highly responsible personnel with a good command of English. Spilna Mova is pre-contracting a pool of interpreters and translators for the ad hock engagement. In 2023 Spilna Mova supported Tetra Tech’s Humanitarian Demining Program (Kyiv, Ukraine) aimed to strengthen the Government of Ukraine’s capacity to locate and remove landmines, unexploded and abandoned ordnance, improvised explosive devices, and other explosive hazards from civilian areas. Spilna Mova delivered the interpretation and translation of manuals and training materials and provided program assistance to teams at the start-up.
